Professional Resuscitation Services Course Information

Professional Resuscitation Services (PRS) deliver the complete spectrum of training courses in Emergency Care.  This allows client organizations and students a one stop shop for all emergency care training including 1st Aid and “Pre-Hospital Emergency Care” courses.  

PRS offer a continuum of personal and professional development in Emergency Care by way of the following training: 

All PRS CPR courses are aligned to the New Zealand Resuscitation Council guidelines. 

Level 1 - CPR for beginners 

Level 2 – Bystander CPR  

Level 3 – Bystander Plus CPR for Health Professionals and Service Groups   

Level 4 – Advanced training for Health Professionals and Service Groups   

Level 5 – for General Practitioners and other Health Professionals  

Level 6 – Advanced training for General Practitioners and other Health Professionals 

Level 7 –Medical Practitioners working in hospital 

PRS offers the New Zealand Resuscitation Council Certificate in Resuscitation and Emergency Care (CORE) at level 3 and NZRC Provider certificates at all other levels.  

In addition to this PRS offer its own certification that is accepted by a number of health professional groups: 

Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners

PRS level 5 course is accredited by the RNZCGP and attracts 10 CME points therefore meeting the requirements for MOPS 

New Zealand Dental Association

PRS levels 4 and 6 PRS level 5 courses are accredited by the NZDA and therefore meet Professional Development requirements 

First Aid and Certificate in Resuscitation and Emergency Care

PRS offers NZQA Unit Standards for Workplace 1st aid courses. A full range of 1st aid and emergency care training is available to those who want to learn life saving skills.  

CORE 3 – This four day course is the best “Pre-Hospital Emergency Care” course currently available in New Zealand with NZRC certification upon successful completion

 

Where applicable PRS will tailor courses to meet the client’s needs within the requirements of New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) and under the guidelines of the New Zealand Resuscitation Council (NZRC).  Continuous review and further development of courses where required is of benefit to students when they return for their annual refresher training.    

 

All PRS 1st aid courses meet the requirements of the Health & Safety division of the NZ Department of Labour (OSH).
